Marketplace Scams On The Rise
Facebook Marketplace Scams are on the rise. First and foremost, we would like to make sure everyone knows that we DO NOT sell containers on Facebook Marketplace. The scammers are getting more and more sophisticated and we are starting to get phone calls on a normal basis. If you see our name or logo with someone trying to sell you a container please report the account. Every little bit helps! You can report the listing by clicking on the three dots (…) in the top right corner and then choosing the reason for reporting. Shipping Container scammers are not just limited to FB Marketplace and span across the entire internet.
Quick Tips When Buying Online
- Is there a logo? Go to the company’s website and see if the logos match.
- Call the number on the website and verify the information you were given online.
- You should be able to see the containers before you buy whether that is in person or via email.
- Does the email domain match the company you are buying from?
We have a couple of other blogs that go into depth regarding scammers, feel free to check them out.
